The Druids, who were the priests of the Celtic religion considered acorns sacred because the nut is the seed of the they mighty oak. They believed eating the nut increases their knowledge and thus connected them with the wisdom of the mighty oak. They also believed that fairies lived in oaks. There’s an old tradition of having an acorn your pocket or wearer a symbol of an acorn to achieve a long life.The acorn is a symbol of prosperity and good fortune.
